This article is a summary of research: Diversity in college: Profiles of high school students at UNAM, 2011-2012 generation. In this one presented: how the project emerged, lla problem that exists around school retention of students from high school in Mexico; the definition and justification of the problem under study; the results of the review of publications on the subject studied (state of affairs); theoretical and methodological reference from which empirical data were analyzed; the method, procedure and instrument used; and the results obtained in each of the designed dimensions: overall dimension data bachillerato students at UNAM (National Preparatory School and College of Sciences and Humanities), socioeconomic dimension, cultural dimension, a dimension of study and styles learning and vocacional.
