Bird Feces Consumption by Fire Ant Solenopsis geminata (Hymenoptera: Formicidae).

The article discusses the consumption of bird feces by fire ant Solenopsis geminata in a garden at a residential area in Caracas, Venezuela. The author observed that the ant consumed feces from mistnetted Blue-gray tanager Thraupis episcopus that contained mostly papaya pulp. Other ant species that also consume bird feces are mentioned, including Cephalotes atratus and Camponotus sericeiventris.
