Oral colchicine for prevention of proliferative vitreoretinopathy: a randomized clinical trial.

The article reports on a clinical trial which evaluates the effects of oral colchicine on the prevention of proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR) in eyes undergoing scleral buckling (SB). It states that the subjects of the study were patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment undergoing SB. The findings of the study reveal that oral colchicine had no significant effect on the prevention of retinal redetachment due to PVR.
