Abstract

The article reports that the American defense contractor Raytheon Co. has won the U.S. Air Force's (USAF) Three-Dimensional Expeditionary Long-Range Radar (3DELRR) competition over defense firms Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman. Topics discussed include views of lieutenant colonel Kevin Sellers, program manager at the USAF, on need for the requirement for the 3DELRR radar, and importance of the contract on long investment in the gallium nitride (GaN) technology.
