Abstract
- The author presents insights on dimorphic fungi of mammals, plants and insects that cause infections. Topics discussed include the total number of Histoplasma capsulatum and Coccidioides infections in the U.S. annually, the impact of phytopathogenic dimorphic fungi on urban landscape and agriculture, and how the switch in morphology of yeast affect its pathogenesis. Also mentioned is the influence of hyphal growth on the pathogenesis of fungi.
