Infiltration of the U.S. Democratic party; Lawsuit of the American Civil Liberties Union against the U.S. Army; Increase of questionable activities among the law enforcement and intelligence agencies; Inquiry addressed by the Armed Services Committee staff to the Pentagon; Statement that evidence has come from a suit filed in federal courts by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which seeks an order banning future army political surveillance in Germany; Fact that ACLU charges that the army is engaged in the illegal practices, with or without the cooperation of West German authorities; Charge that the army maintains files on the professional activities and political opinions of U.S. citizens; Suggestion that the army was trying to establish the existence of a broad conspiracy to subvert army enlisted men.
