Abstract

The article discusses the biographical research method used by Professor Jenny Hocking on the family history of former Prime Minister of Australia, Gough Whitlam, that applies the use of art and science in biography. Topics include facts unearthed from public records such as the real reason behind the dismissal of Whitlam as prime minister by Governor-General Sir John Kerr, and the hard-labor sentence incurred by the prime minister's grandfather, Henry Hugh Gough Whitlam, for forging signature.
