Abstract

The article describes the case of a 52-year-old male patient with a history of dilated cardiomyopathy and heart failure (HF), and was subjected to echocardiography to measure hemodynamic parameters, central venous pressure (CVP) and blood volume status. Several factors are considered to ascertain the diagnosis including the use of pulmonary artery flotation catheter, echo-Doppler, and assessment of pulmonary artery pressure (PAP). The formula used in measuring the cardiac output is given.
