Abstract

Core–shell hybrid particles, possessing a hard core of silica particles (SiPs) and a soft shell of brushlike polystyrene (PS), were successfully prepared by the combination of lithium–iodine exchange (LIE) and surface-initiated living anionic polymerization (SI-LAP).
