Abstract
- The article focuses on how sports psychology was practiced during the formative years of the Chicago Cubs baseball team in the 1930s. Topics discussed include the scientific research aimed at improving player performance introduced by club owner Philip Knight Wrigley and collaboration with University of Illinois psychologist Coleman Roberts Griffith considered for his study on sports psychology. Griffith's publication of team performance metrics and his conflict with team members are mentioned.
