Abstract

The article presents a study which showed that cell-free deoxyribonucleic acid (cfDNA) testing for fetal trisonomy is more effective than standard screening during the first-trimester of pregnancy in routine prenatal populations. Topics include the study's respondents which comprised of pregnant women presenting for aneuploidy screening, and the higher sensitivity of cfDNA testing for trisomy 21 when compared with standard screening in measuring nuchal translucency and biochemical analytes.
