Abstract

The article discusses the case of an 8 year old Caucasian girl whose lesions started at the age of 6 as painful nodules in the groins prior to any signs of puberty. Examination showed few polyporous comedones, red papules and atrophic scars in the inguinal regions and a diagnosis of hidradenitis suppurative was made based on the characteristic clinical presentation. She was given oral isotretinoin and topical 20% acelaic acid cream twice a day and marked improvement was seen after 4 weeks.
