Abstract

Chemotherapy is the main treatment for immune diseases and cancer, but chemotherapy drugs may cause ovarian dysfunction in female. Amenorrhea, infertility, vasomotor symptoms, sexual dysfunction, osteoporosis and other problems caused by ovarian dysfunction bring great suffering to the patients. These also impact on patients' psychosocial and sexual psychology. It is very important to find relevant prevention measures to reduce ovarian damage and meantime retaining reproductive and endocrine function in patients. This article summarize the relevant literature, the protection of ovarian function and fertility methods, for example, GnRH analogues, embryo cryopreservation and oocyte cryopreservation, ovarian tissue cryopreservation, apoptosis inhibition, free radical scavenger, therapy of traditional Chinese medicine are described.
