Abstract

The amount of data is growing exponentially, and organizations face also challenges from the environment - namely globalization, competition and changeability. Thus organizations have to consider not only structured data, but also to analyze the unstructured, so-called big data. The latter is so specific and differs so much from "classical" data in databases and data warehouses, that it is necessary to develop a new approach to big data implementation and analysis. The main aim of the paper is ordering of notions connected with big data, discussing of challenges of big data, as well as pointing out an effective strategy for organizations aiming at analyzing big data.
