Abstract

The article discusses an integrative science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education elementary lesson to teach students that it is acceptable to fail and that failure is an important phase in the process of engineering design and learning pathway. Topics discussed include benefits of using humor on overall learning environments, four criteria to be adhered to when using humor in educational settings, and example of a technological/engineering design challenge.
