Opinion: Climate-based daylighting metrics in LEEDv4 – A fragile progress.

The author discusses the progress in Climate-based daylighting metrics in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accreditation system (LEED v4). The author explains the LEED v4 criterion which he considered a step in the right direction but with too strict annual solar exposure. He also proposes the application of 1000 lx direct sunlight criterion only to areas that require stringent control of sunlight to facilitate the design of comfortable, well daylit spaces.
