Science is swept up in GCSE standards row.

The article reports that the Great Britain Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) has planned to conduct additional checks on the level of difficulty in the reformed science General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) qualifications after discovering problems on the new sample papers for maths qualifications. It says that ministers will conduct a close monitoring of the standards in the science qualifications and reassess the entire role of Ofqual as well.
