The New Right and the Old West.

The article discusses the history of the New Right in the U.S. West from the 1970s through the mid 2010s, with a particular focus on the far right wing conservative Republican Sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona Joe Arapio. An overview of Arapio's alleged use of fear against Mexican and Hispanic immigrants in Arizona, including in regard to Arapio's attitude towards immigration laws towards illegal immigrants, is provided.
