Abstract

The author investigates the potential impact of the client's mental health diagnosis on the counseling relationship between therapist and client. Topics discussed include the diagnostic system for mental health disorders, the risks involved when prescribing the appropriate therapy for mental health clients, and an assessment of the capability of the therapist's training to aid them in helping clients with mental health diagnosis.
