The article focuses on investigative reporting adapted from the author's investigative reporting tutorial as part of On Demand video training series of the U.S. Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ). Topics discussed include role of social media in gathering information related to a criminal case, registering for an account with Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER), electronic public access point for case information from federal courts, and searching through public records.
