Abstract

Single domain CoFe2O4 nanoparticles with different amount of defects/strain have been synthesized by hydrothermal method at different growth temperatures. XRD studies confirm the formation of single phase CoFe2O4 nanoparticles. High resolution TEM analysis reveals the presence of defects in the nanoparticles grown at low temperatures. The M-H characteristics show a remarkable change in the magnetic properties with the change in the growth temperature. The variation in the magnetic properties has been attributed to the presence of defects formed during the synthesis at low temperatures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
