Abstract
- An essay is presented which provides discussion of the politics of English poet Felicia Hemans' writing. Topics discussed include Hemans's earliest poetry involving discussion on nineteenth-century political debate, representations of social, cultural, and political struggle in her writings, and how Hemans's texts depict understanding of women in the Romantic period, which has also been argued by writer Anne Mellor.
