Abstract

This article focuses on the paper 'Destructive devotion: with friends like us, does Jung need enemies?,' by Beverley Zabriskie published in the journal 'Journal of Jungian Theory and Practice.' This is Zabriskie's wake-up call to Jungians: her keynote address at IAAP Congress in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The call is a call to speak out, to voice our work, to stay true to our own language: the language of authentic clinical work and to be fluent in other tongues: languages of discourse. It is also a call to be realistic: to stay with realities of today's world and take on board current discoveries in neuroscience, molecular physics, computer technology: to move on from mire of fundamentalism and a preoccupation with Jung and his words into a multi-theory interchange and interfertilization: to create a vibrant modern animated being not a dinosaur.
