Abstract

This article focuses on a movement by accountability activists and their labor allies to contest corporate welfare for public economic development in the U.S. An annual gathering of the AFL-CIO Working for America Institute will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to discuss their campaign for accountable economic development. They call for a subsidies cutoff. Their concern centers on local disclosure measures that require firms to reveal figures received and jobs it created. There have been efforts made by activists calling for a subsidies cutoff.
