Abstract

The author reflects on the study by P. Jia and colleagues on the role of xenon on septic acute kidney injury. The study reportedly involved mice which were treated with xenon or nitrogen before sepsis was inducted by injecting Escherichia coli lipopolysaccharide (LPS). The results revealed that xenon can regulate miR-21 expression in kidneys.
