Abstract
- The article looks at the drought in California, focusing on economic conditions caused by the drought in the state's Central Valley region and arguing that environmental policies related to water supply have exacerbated the problem. Topics include a lawsuit related to the U.S. Endangered Species Act limiting the volume of water piped into the Central Valley from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and the high unemployment and difficult social conditions among agricultural workers in the region.
