Abstract

Organizational culture has become one of the most important aspects of organizational management. It is so important for the organization's success that big multinational organizations spend tremendous resources (especially financial) to build and maintain a culture that translates into performance and efficiency, one that allows the organization to be flexible and able to permanently adapt to a rapidly changing environment. There has been a lot of progress and research in this area in private organizations but not so much in the public sector, very few in universities and almost none in Romanian universities. This paper tries to answer some questions about the organizational culture of Romanian universities (Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca) using Kim Cameron and Robert Quinn's Competing Values Framework.
