A New Entry to β-Functionalization of Enones: Pentyloxy Group Incorporation in the TBSOTf-Mediated Ring-Opening Reaction of Epoxides with Ylides Derived from the Phosphoniosilylation Products of Enones in Tetrahydropyran.

This article presents a study on ring-opening reactions of epoxides with ylides 2 derived from unsaturated carbonyl compounds through the phosphoniosilylation reaction. It discusses the participation of the solvent THF in the ring-opening process of epoxides, and the suitability of THP as a solvent for the phosphoniosilylation reaction of enones with triphenylphosphine.
