Abstract

The article deals with the decision of theologians John Owen and Lucy Hutchinson to conform with the doctrines of the Anglican Church in England during the Restoration era in the 1670s. Owen's attack on scholastic theology, support of Calvinist theology, Protestantism and King Charles I are expressed in the Puritanical works "Theologoumena pantodapa" in 1661, "Animadversions on a treatise entitled Fiat lux" in 1662 and "A Vindication of the Animadversions on Fiat lux" in 1664.
