Abstract
- An essay is presented which discusses the American television audience's reception to the African American musician and television (TV) actor of the TV program "Adventures in Music" John Roland Redd, who's stage name was Korla Pandit, during the Cold War. The role Pandit played as performing as a Hindu musician from India, including in regard to race, Pandit's musical genre referred to as Exotica and the exoticism, is discussed.
