Abstract
- The article discusses activist groups in New Orleans, Louisiana in the context of rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina. Topics include the work of the LGBTQ criminal-justice reform group BreakOUT, anti-racism and anti-gentrification protests, and the work of the Hispanic American group El Congreso in building social movement cooperation. The history of African American resistance to racism in New Orleans is addressed.
