- The article focuses on the authigenic illite on relatively high-quality tight sandstones reservoirs. It discusses the formation and distribution of authigenic illite, a common clay mineral which is generally formed in rich potassium water medium. It describes the occurrence characteristics of authigenic illite and its formation analysis.
