Abstract

The article reports that carriers are changing business plans and strategies to compete with rivals and increase revenue in a mature market. Topics discussed include the decision of telecommunications company AT&T to offer a nationwide bundle of cellphone and television (TV) services, the Open World initiative launched by telecommunications firm Sprint, and the rate-plan structure introduced by wireless company Verizon which reduces the price of some access-line and shared-data plan charges.
