Abstract

The article reports that aerospace firms Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman have backed from work of developing their own company-funded designs for the U.S. Navy's Unmanned Carrier Launched Airborne Surveillance and Strike (Uclass) aircraft initiative. Topics discussed include decreased federal spending for defense as a reason for backing from the initiative; delay in release of proposals of making unmanned aircraft; and views of Randy Forbes, House Armed Services Committee's member.
