Abstract

The article discusses a study into the safety and efficacy of the drug eculizumab in pregnant women with paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH). The birth and developmental records of children born and adverse events in mothers with PNH were assessed under the study. Findings regarding maternal or fetal deaths, miscarriages, blood transfusions during pregnancy, hemorrhagic events and thrombotic events are detailed. The study also examined the presence of the drug in breast milk.
