Demand and supply of medical physicists: Issues of quantity, quality, and competency in India.

The author discusses whether universities in India have sufficient infrastructure to provide quality education and training to produce competent medical physicists and if it is appropriate to flood the field of medical physics with inadequately educated medical physicists. He cites the need to encourage eligible young medical physicists to undergo appropriate competency test to work as clinical medical physicist in the discipline of radiation oncology medical physics (ROMP).
