The Promise of Title IX.

An essay is presented on addressing sexual violence on campus as a civil rights issue in relation to Title IX of the 1972 Education Amendments in the U.S. Topics discussed include the book "Sexual Harassment of Working Women" written by Catharine MacKinnon and the ability of students to challenge their schools' responses to sexual violence through a complaint to the Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR).
