Abstract
- Reports the achievement of crystallographic control in biomineralized inorganic nanostructures, by employing a form of molecular imprinting using a synthetic, biomolecular template comprised of anionic and cationic components. Organization of Cd[sup 2+] ions within the interhelical pores between DNA strands and subsequent reaction with H[sub 2]S to form CdS nanorods of controllable widths and crystallographic orientation.
