Diffusion-weighted MR imaging of salivary glands with gustatory stimulation: comparison before and after radiotherapy.

The article presents a study which aims to evaluate the significance of diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI) in assessing parotid gland's physiological changes before and after parotid-sparing radiotherapy (RT) and during gustatory stimulation. Student t tests, apparent diffusion coefficient, and DWI sequence were performed during the study. Results show that DWI with gustatory stimulation can be used as a tool for non-invasive assessment of salivary gland function.
