Abstract

The article reflects on the doctrinal frameworks governing federal claims of vote dilution and racial gerrymandering. It mentions the race-conscious remedial districting which violates the section 2 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the Fourteenth Amendment's Equal Protection Clause. It also mentions that section 2 offers a legally cognizable defense against constitutional claims of racial districting.
