Abstract

The article examines media law, specifically the creation of the Journalist's Conscience Clause Act. First published by the Spanish Constitutional Court in December 2002, the Clause serves several purposes which include upholding a journalist's moral and ethical integrity as well as procedural processes to be incorporated when a journalist feels the need to leave due to moral violations. One of the most debated aspects of the conscience clause is whether fiscal compensation should be awarded if a journalist were to leave his employer.
