Synthesis and structure of a 2D → 3D framework with coexistence of hydrogen bonds and polythreading character.

The title complex, {[Co(BPPA)(5-OH- bdc)] · (HO)} was prepared under hydrothermal conditions based on two ligands, namely, bis(4-(pyridin-4-yl)phenyl)amine (BPPA) and 5-hydroxyisophthalic acid (5-OH-H bdc). 5-OH- bdc anions coordinated to Co atoms to give layers in crystal. BPPA ligands coordinate to Co atoms and thread into the adjacent layers. There are hydrogen bonds between adjacent layers, giving rise to a 2D → 3D framework. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
