Review of the 2015 influenza season in the southern hemisphere.

The article presents a report that summarizes the chronology, epidemiology and virology of the 2015 influenza season in the temperate regions of the southern hemisphere and the tropical regions of South and Central America covering influenza activity collected from January and early October 2015. It was found that influenza A(H3N2) virus circulation overall was predominant across the region with the exception of Chile which reported more influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 detections.
