Amyand's hernia: a hybrid laparoscopic and open approach.

The article describes the case of a 71-year-old man who was taken to the emergency department with swelling in the right inguinal region after heavy lifting. He already went through a left inguinal hernia repair based on his medical history. He was treated by performing a combined laparoscopic and open approach using a mesh repair after determining that the patient is suffering with a type 2 Amyand's hernia.
