Abstract
- An essay is presented on the design of the Willow Pattern Garden, a Chinese garden located in Hawera, New Zealand. Topics discussed in the essay include the opening of the garden by the Chinese Ambassador to New Zealand in 1968; the use of Chinese porcelain for making decorative designs in blue in the garden; and willow pattern design based on European culture in the garden.
