Abstract

The article argues that the key finding of the higher education Green Paper in Great Britain is that universities have spent too much of the past few decades worrying about research and not enough about teaching. It is stated that the implication is that while the research is excellent, the teaching is not. It is opined that as a result, students graduate without sufficient skills for the workplace, with qualifications that are inconsistent across the sector.
