Abstract

The article discusses the amount of money that the city of Chicago, Illinois has paid to various families in the aftermath of several police shootings involving victims such as Calvin Cross, and it mentions police brutality involving the Chicago, Illinois Police Department, as well as the claim that the majority of complaints against police officers in the city do not result in discipline. A video recording depicting the police shooting death of teenager Laquan McDonald is also assessed.
