Abstract

The article describes the case of a 55 year old who visited the orthopedic department with acute right anterior right pain. Needle electromyography showed prominent abnormal spontaneous activities and reduced interference patterns of motor unit action potentials in the right iliopsoas and vastus medialis muscles and an ultrasonography revealed marked swelling of the right femoral nerve and large cystic mass below the femoral nerve. The patient died 4 months after symptom onset.
