Abstract

The literature data on the substituent influence on the energy, enthalpy, entropy, and free energy of activation for 21 series of organometallic compounds reactions have been analyzed. The activation parameters were first established to depend not only on the classic inductive, resonance, and steric effects but also on the polarizability effect of the substituents (the ion-dipole interaction in the transition state). In certain cases, the polarizability effect has the dominant influence on the considered parameters. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
