Abstract
- The article reviews various studies regarding intestinal microbiome and its role in prosiatic arthritis (PsA), rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and spondyloarthritides (SpA). Topics covered include the composition and function of microbiome, its prokaryotic nature, the hypothesis on toxemic factor and jejunoileal bypass surgery triggering arthritis syndrome. Conclusions indicated the need to explore microbiome aspects as to the dysbiotic process, microbial perturbation and immunosuppressive drugs.
